Direction of Research 研究方向

  • 海洋佔了地球總表面積的百分之七十，以動物而言，目前所發現的三十四個動物門中，海洋生物就佔了三十三個門，這些懸殊的比例顯示海洋保存了地球上絕大部份生物多樣性。而海洋中的生物由於其生長環境相對特殊，受到各種物理與化學因素如海水壓力、海流與波浪、海水溫度、光照強度、水中溶氧量、水中化學元素等的影響，因此海洋生物無論在演化型態、生活方式上均與陸地生物有著相當大的差異，因此利用海洋生物資源來探索新藥物，是我們主要的研究方向

  • 目前從海洋生物如海藻、珊瑚、海鞘、海綿、甚至是海洋微生物中，已找到各式各樣具有不同活性的二次代謝物，而除了分離海洋生物中的化學成分物質並解析其結構外，研究海洋天然物生合成路徑及合成海洋天然物，分析活性與結構之間的關係，也是主要的研究方向，目前海洋天然物研究題材為花裙海葵(Zoanthus sp.)、瘤砂海葵(Palythoa sp.)、紅樹林植物與嗜鹽性真菌

  • 我們也以抗登革熱病毒天然物為研究標的，目前已發現許多中草藥與陸地植物如大葉桃花心木(Swietenia macrophylla)與酒餅勒(Severinia buxifolia)具有良好的抗登革熱病毒活性，還自睦月瘤砂海葵(Palythoa mutuki)中找到一系列的蛻皮激素有抑制登革熱病毒二型活性的化合物，這些研究成果都提供了天然物抗病毒開發的新契機
